Real Life Stuff
Currently, I'm a microbiology graduate student at the University of Idaho. I have gone to Caltech for my undergraduate degree and have done some graduate work at Dartmouth.
Apart from my academic interests, I'm an avid bookworm. I like books of all kinds--as long as it's good, the subject matter is of secondary concern. If I have time, I go bookshop hunting, especially for used bookstores, or for book sales. I can't resist places that look like a little shack has been tucked into the middle of nowhere and stuffed to the gills with books.
I'm also an unpublished speculative fiction writer. But if you want to give me money for one of my stories, I won't complain.
Who is "Syaffolee"?
It is a pseudonym, S. Y. Affolee. The initials come from the first letters of my Chinese name which means "sea poem". The last name is the feminine form of a French word meaning "fool".
