As far as which seasons are my favorite, I'd have to say summer is at the bottom of the heap. I don't particularly like summer--primarily due to the heat and the humidity. Is it fun to sweat even when you're just sitting? What's so fun about roasting in the sun and getting mosquito bites? If you're feeling overheated, there are only so many clothes to take off.
I don't trust people who say they love the summer. They're either living in places that never get above 90 degrees or they spend the entire day in an air conditioned building.
I am not a big fan of summer either, since I don't like bugs and I am not tolerant of the heat. But living in the north, I do appreciate the change of seasons, a lot - when one gets too tiresome it is time for another! (It always amazes me how many people complain about the cold and snow, or brag about temperate weather elsewhere.) I do love gardening, swimming, and getting a break from the teaching routine of the academic year...all parts of my summer.
I know Nashville can get hot in the summer. Spent plenty of them there. However, I miss the afternoons in my grandparents' pool. Nashville summer were always more fun than Georgia/NC summers
Well, in Colorado, the bugs aren't that bad due to the lack of humidity (most of colorado is essentially a high desert). Summers here are fantastic - temps are usually in the 80s. But of course, because we're a desert, there aren't many beaches, which is just yet another example of cosmic irony, and therefore a possible proof of a Deity.
