This morning, the news remarked upon a strange website called beautifulpeople.net where people get to join a club for beautiful people if they get voted in by the members. The founder claims that the whole process is democratic. Yeah right. Only a select group of people get to vote.
The cynic in me thinks that there are probably tons of fake and/or doctored profiles on that site.
I suppose people can do whatever they want. If they want to create a clique for "beautiful" people, there's no one to stop them. But I also can't help but think that this is wrong, that they're perpetuating the very things that make this society seem artificial and superficial.
