Wednesday, August 18, 2004 Straight Out of the Books Science creates 'own mavericks'. I don't know whether or not the shunned scientists are doing bad science but this is ripe for social commentary. Actually, the social commentary has already been done several decades ago in Sphereland, a sequel to the social-satire-masquerading-as-math-book Flatland.
