A Conversation on Indian Arranged Marriages
"Maybe he's going back to get married."
"Yeah, I heard that his parents have already picked out a couple of girls."
"I know [name omitted] went back for one week and came back with a wife in tow."
"What I don't understand is that some girls raised in America are
willing
to go back to marry men their parents approve of."
"Well, you've got to please mom. Or dad for that matter."
And in the west, we all take love and choice for granted.
