I think my presentation went horribly. I could feel the dean glower at me the whole time. Afterwards, he gave some criticisms which I thought were well founded. One of the students (how would you call a college aged teacher's pet?) gave some unsolicited opinions which were rather self-righteous and hypercritical. I felt completely numb afterwards, sucker punched in the stomach and head mashed in. I'd like to think that I've become better at accepting failure and rejection since living for over three years in a punishing academic environment, but that doesn't make it hurt less, especially when a negative jab comes from a place that's totally unexpected.
